He was hounded by the income tax and ACA guys and he had to sell alot of his properties to pay off his taxes.
His datukship was withdrawn.
UMNO literally forgot him after his protege Muhyiddin defeated him at the Pagoh UMNO divional elections.
I visited him once after his defeat and he said, "Oh, you still remember me. I never had the pleasure. Osman Saat's contributions to the Johor economy during the early years of the NEP were quite well-known, though. The Johor SEDC remains one of the most progressive, more than two decades after he quit as MB. Those who led the SEDC during its formative years will be able to attest to Osman Saat's commitment.Rockybruhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08187242806213153913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3763854418717592898.post-19030065257962049102007-10-27T11:59:00.000+08:002007-10-27T11:59:00.000+08:00Inna lillah..al fatihah..I quote:Do not talk ill o...Inna lillah..
al fatihah..

I quote:
Do not talk ill of the dead, for they have reached the final destination to receive what they sent before them.
-The Prophet Muhammad, as reported by A'ishah binti Abi Bakrzainulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10685473254233902888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3763854418717592898.post-17979447811371135952007-10-27T10:41:00.000+08:002007-10-27T10:41:00.000+08:00Al fathihah to Allahyarham Tan Sri Osman Saat.He w...Al fathihah to Allahyarham Tan Sri Osman Saat.

He was a Muo lad and he was a student of my late Tok Jantan. When I was growing up, I'd follow my father and uncles to his openhouse, every second day Hari Raya at Sg. Abong and he'd always hold us back, for chit-chats. Being a twelve year old then, I haven't the faintest idea what these men were so engrossed into.

When my Tok Tan passed away in Muo 25 Nov 1985, he came to the house the moment he heard and cried whilst reciting Quranic verses (this I remember well). He even went to the funeral at Batu 2 cemetry.

So did his men.

The next two days, he came over to the house, to check on my Tok Tina, whilst the whole household still in bereavements.

I will remember Tan Sri Osman for that kindness and fondness towards my Tok Tan.Zakhir's Zoohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11229220542834916434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3763854418717592898.post-22931614085215184762007-10-27T10:18:00.000+08:002007-10-27T10:18:00.000+08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Pasqualehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02023178136515254869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3763854418717592898.post-42519467441901689092007-10-27T09:07:00.000+08:002007-10-27T09:07:00.000+08:00Salam Kak Maria:Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi roji'un...Salam Kak Maria:

Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi roji'un.

Semoga ALLAh mengampuni Allahyarham dan kita semua serta merahmati roh beliau.
Ameen Ya Rabb.tokasidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06767973481117699680noreply@blogger.com
