Clerk arrested over 'death threat' SMSes to T'ganu reps

A 31-year-old clerk has been taken in for questioning earlier this week in connection with the SMS 'death threats' made to three Terengganu state assemblymen.

He is being investigated for allegedly sending out SMSes to the trio warning them against moving a motion of no-confidence against Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said.

Terengganu CID chief Mohd Fauzi Abduri told a press conference in Kuala Terengganu today that the man was arrested on Monday night at his house in Bangi, Selangor.

No other details of that man were revealed as investigations were underway.

On April 13, Paka assemblyman Zakaria Abdullah, Abdul Halim Jusoh (Permaisuri) and Rosol Wahid (Ajil) had lodged their police reports shortly after receiving the SMS ‘death threats' claiming that the message had come from one of the Menteri Besar's top official who, however, denied the accusation.

They were joined by seven others in boycotting the state assembly sitting on Tuesday fearing for their safety but returned to the assembly on Wednesday only after being instructed to do so by Prime Minister and Umno president Najib Abdul Razak.

However, there was no motion of no-confidence tabled against Ahmad.

Ahmad is facing a major opposition from among his own ranks in the state government.

It is now believed that 18 out of 24 Umno/BN elected representatives are against him.

There are 32 seats in the Terengganu state assembly. The remaining eight are held by opposition PAS.

The Umno assemblymen who want Ahmad "out" are believed to be from the faction of former Menteri Besar Idris Jusoh.

Datuk Najib, who has met both Datuk Ahmad and Datuk Idris separately, asking them to sort out the political mess in the state, is said to have given the Mentri Besar a one-month deadline to prove he has the support of the assemblymen.

This Mat Said also courting trouble. It was reported he appointed some of his cronies from his division of Kijal, an ambulance driver, as a director of a state givt-linked company.

Two primary school teachers w3ere made directors in a subsidiary and state-owned hospital in Kuantan.

What a stupid move. You give ammunition to yr enemies to shoot you.

Baru padan muka. I mean he is no better than that Idris guy, who bolot duit rakyat for the mega projects in the state.

Dua kali lima lah, depa ni. It boils down to greed and money & of, course "cronysm".

Can Umno leaders change? Reform? I dont think so. Lol! Berbuih mulut Najib cakap pasai "change", "reform" and "transform."

Have they not been listening? Or are they too dumb to understand?
