Kugan's Death Classified As Murder

Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail has classified the death of 22-year-old car theft suspect Kugan Ananthan as murder and has instructed the police to carry out thorough investigations.

Kugan, who was arrested on Jan 15 on suspicion of being involved in the theft of luxury cars, died - five days later - at 11am on Tuesday while in police custody.

According to Bernama, the family claimed that there were injuries on Kugan's body (pictures here ) despite the autopsy report stating that the death was due to fluid accumulation in the lungs.

In KUCHING, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said police would carry out in-depth investigations into the case. Bernama has the story here .

What I can say? Terrible. The police must be held accountable.

kugan was a suspect but he died while he was under police custody.

Those wounds definitely couldnt have been self-inflicted.

The police with their already dented image MUST conduct a thorough investigations.
