We lost Pulau Batu Putih but got the "rocks".

"Rais: Decision on island is a win-win situation"

THE HAGUE: The International Court of Justice has ruled that Singapore has sovereignty over Pulau Batu Puteh while Malaysia owns Middle Rocks.

As for the South Ledge, the ICJ ruled that it belongs to the state in whose territorial waters it is located.

ICJ vice-president, Awn Shawkat Al-Khasawneh read out the judgment, which was carried live over RTM1 Friday.

Pulau Batu Putih, which Singapore calls Pedra Branca, an isle no larger than half a football field, is about 14.3km from Tanjung Penyusop in Johor and 46.3km from Singapore.

Middle Rocks is about half a nautical mile from Pulau Batu Putih and 1.7 nautical miles from South Ledge. Read more from the star here.

We lost this -

But got the rocks. See pictures: here

(What a consolation! Didnt Rais Yatim express confidence of having the ICJ ruling in Malaysia's favour?)

If Malaysian leaders still yawning and sleeping like Paklah, next to fall is Pulau Pisang in Pontian, Johor. The Singaporean is treating the island like theirs.

Currently PSA personnel commuting to and pro the island to man the lighthouse are not strictly checked by the Malaysian authority. You can bet the personnel are intelligence which includes the "mother of all evil", isreali!

Hey, all is not lost, we got the rocks, baby!

Ghani Patail owes us an explanation. He and his team did a poor job. Also go get the guy who produce the photoshop picture of the island.

Pn Maria,

It must be Singapore's suggestion that both sides do not appeal the result.

Singapore knew in advance, Malaysia kowtow in advance. It is that famed Malay (PM's) generosity that handed them the Pulau.

There will be a S'pore submarine base in Pulau B.P in 5 years'time.

So much for "ketuanan Melayu". You cant even take care of an islet.

Cakap banyak, bagai nak gah. At the end of the day we lost out to that small island down south.

So what was Rais talking about the win-win situation?

We've known for some time that a certain leader of this proud nation of ours lost his marbles.

Now we know where he lost those marbles! In the sea! Those little pebbles in the sea are marbles.

Someone said we should call Pulau Batu Putih "Pulau Batu Hitam" after Musa Hitam....

Salam Tok Mommy,
Another trend of "free gift" to Singapore from AAB, SIL&Co. - very generous, must be from Islam AdaHari?; next (its already happening), is iskandar development area... what's next? ... disintegrating umno, and LKY's dream of "grater" singapore after 30 years in the making... all with the help of AAB, SIL&Co. (at last the "eastern zionist's" dream is becoming a reality...)

Salam,

Over 46 km from Singapore and 14 km from johor and yet we lost, what a shame. Thats all I can say for now and kudos to the leader who proudly says it's a win win conclusion.

Ingatkan dulu ado satu oghang lombek kek noghoghi den, upo-upo eh ado lai suagho sumpek. Den buleh tocongang yola bagi tungau masuk.

We lost cos our AG Gani Patail and his team didn't know how to cut deals with the ICJ as it is done in some kangaroo courts.

We have weak unleading leaders who either need to improve or be replaced.

Salam Tok Mommy,
Sometimes I wonder whether Rais ni dapat "PhD lalang" or PhD betul? How could it be a "win-win" when that "pulau" is at a strategic location controlling sea traffic to/from South China Sea? Agaknya dah kena penyakit AAB... asyik tidur & otak pun dah beku! Read "Dig Dog's" analysis on this.
