Sultan's choice of MB stripped of Umno membership

Kijal assemblyman Datuk Ahmad Said, who was supposed to have been sworn in as Terengganu Mentri Besar today, has been stripped of his Umno membership for disobeying the party's leadership.

The Terengganu Palace announced yesterday that Ahmad Said would be the new Mentri Besar of the state instead of Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh and the swearing-in ceremony was to be held this morning.

However, the scheduled swearing-in ceremony did not take place.

Ahmad Said, the man chosen by the palace over Datuk Idris for the post, merely received a letter of appointment from the State Royal Regency Advisory Council.

He was told that his swearing-in has been scheduled in three days' time, which would be this Wednesday.

Didnt the 22 state assemblymen say that they'd resign and will call a by-election if their request of having Idris reappointed as MB is not met?

I say good. Kalau berani pi resign and have a by-election in their respective constituents.

And I bet my bottom dollar, PAS will win in those seats. Padan muka!

Pak Lah just does not seem to have it, you know the capability of solving problems, apa kah krisis saperti ini.

The rakats are watching and looking and we getting frustrated and angry with their antics.

Lim Kit Siang was condemned when he asked his DAP state assemblymen to boycott the Perak MB swearing-in ceremony.

He then apologised.

Now, what do you call these 22 state reps from Terengganu for doing even worse?

And the former MB from Perlis?

The word is biadap! Kurang diajar!

ahmad said is not the best candidate in my opinion as a kijal-born person. why the palace chose him is a mystery. but one thing certain is that idris is not wanted by the palace. it's ABI - anyone but idris. why dont BN just take the hint and submit other name(s) and clear the impasse? the royal households are now claiming their rights after being brow beaten by BN for so long.

One of the foreign news agencies says the reason why the palace does not favour Idris is because he feels that Idris did not show enough respect to the royal household during his first term as MB.
