Another slap in the face?

Well Rocky has the latest here, that the Prime Minister has agreed to the Palace's choice of Datuk Ahmad Said as Menteri Besar.

Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi, who was granted an audience with the Yang diPertuan Agong, Tuanku Mirzan Zainal Abidin before this morning's weekly Cabinet meeting, has agreed to the appointment of Ahmad as Terengganu Mentri Besar.

Last Sunday Datuk Abdullah described the appointment of the Kijal assemblyman as unconstitutional and as far as the Umno President was concerned his choice of Datuk Idris Jusoh as a candidate (for the post of Menteri Besar) remained unchanged.

Updated: by Malaysiakini at 6.32pm; It is learnt that after an audience with the king, Abdullah had agreed with the appointment of the palace-backed Ahmad Said for the post.

update! 4:15pm

During the meeting with the Agong, my sources told me, the PM was asked to explain how the RM1 billion "wang ehsan" was disbursed by the State Government under former Menteri Besar Idris Jusoh.

Since winning back Terengganu from PAS in 2004, the BN government has been paying the State Government some RM1 billion a year (the "wang ehsan" did not exist when PAS ruled Terengganu). Terengganu has the second highest number of poor people in Malaysia, after Sabah. The present Yang diPertuan Agong hails from Terengganu. The PM was also told to meet with Ahmad Said, the Sultan of Terengganu's choice for MB. The Star said half an hour ago that the PM would also meet Idris.

Here's the report from the Star

Indeed, it is another slap in the face for Rip Van Winkle. It is yet another evidence that he is a lame duck PM.

Time for him to go.

Now that he has conceded, does that mean what he said of the appointment of Ahmad Said was wrong?

Now he has to retract what he said. Now he has to menyembah dan minta amppun seribu kali ampun drp Tuanku.

In the first place why couldnt he do this before?

You have little boys to advise you and this is the consequence.

Kak Ton,

PM accepting an unconstitiutonal MB??? What's he babbling abt?

Maybe he has halfpastsix advisers but the buck stops at his door. He has no one to blame but himself. He seems lost at sea.

This is what arrogance doed to a weakling that he has now and then claim and shout that he is in control and "pantang dicabar".

In control, he definitely is not and "pantang dicabar", the rakyat have already done through the ballot box and shown him the way out.

Tried to get report of the audience of PM and the king at Bernama and NST but couldnt find any.

Star online report is very brief.

Just curious to know what Pak Lah has got to say abt the meeting with the Agong.

Let's see if those 22 state assemblymen and Idris will step down as they said they would.

Mahunya. Eleh cakap tak serupa bikin. Bet you, they wont.

Sekarang nak pi menyembah.Muka tak malu!

Daulat Tuanku!

This is rather sad, really. To have worked himself up to finally face someone and make a stand, and then walk dejectedly away because of one pointed question?

I wonder if this is how he's like with his SIL? If he is, then that would explain a lot :)

Now we know why Pak Lah needs Idris to continue as MB.

So how much of the Wang Ehsan has been pocketed by Idris for Pak Lah & family?

Unbelievable how corrupt and greedy thieves and robbers are.

HUGE investigation should be launched re the RM1 billion if it is true!

And Abdullah Badawi's poor judgement, insulting and disrespecting our King was a disgrace.

When the election was over, I am happy about the result, but thought perhaps Abdullah Badawi should be given a chance to make it right for another term. NOT ANYMORE, and in my humble opinion, he's a bad leader and should step down!!!
