Dr M wants "shameless" PM to resign

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he believes that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi has no option but to step down in order to save Umno from further humiliation and destruction.

"Anyone else would have already resigned but (Abdullah) has no shame," says the former Prime Minister.

"I want him to resign" he told a crowd of more than 1,000 at a post-election forum organised by pro-Mahathir Umno supporters’ group MyKMU.Net yesterday.

“This leader is the country’s only prime minister to ever come from an opposition state (Penang)..., " he said .

The three-hour session first featured three speakers - former Umno Selangor chief Dr Mohd Khir Toyo, Umno Youth executive committee member Mukhriz Mahathir and Johor Umno information chief Dr Mohd Fuad Zarkashi - who analysed why the party had done badly in the March 8 polls.

Malaysia's Mahathir urges PM Abdullah to resign

Tuesday, 01 April 2008

(
AFP) - Veteran ex-leader Mahathir Mohamad on Tuesday urged Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to resign following disastrous election results Abdullah, also president of the ruling United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), is facing increasing calls to quit from party leaders.

"I ask (Abdullah) to resign," the former prime minister, who ruled Malaysia for 22 years, told a gathering of at least 2,000 UMNO members.

The focus of the meeting was to analyse the March 8 election results but it turned out to be a platform to demand Abdullah's resignation.

UMNO members criticised Abdullah and the alleged influence son-in-law Khairy Jamaluddin, who is a deputy leader of the powerful UMNO youth wing, has over him in decision-making.

"Anyone else would have already resigned but (Abdullah) has no shame," Mahathir, who picked Abdullah to succeed him October 2003, told a cheering crowd.

Mahathir said Abdullah had ignored the will of the people, while the veteran's son, Mukhriz, a lawmaker, echoed the call for Abdullah to go.

"To bring about (reform), the top leadership has to be held responsible. The prime minister must gracefully withdraw," Mukhriz said.

He urged UMNO members to speak out and not be intimidated.

"Be brave, if you love your country and speak out," he said. "We have been told to keep quiet but I ask you now to stand by my side."

Abdullah, 68, has claimed a mandate to rule despite unprecedented election losses, but observers say he is on borrowed time.

Senior lawmaker Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah had said he would challenge Abdullah's leadership if he received enough support.

I dont understand why some people think Dr Mahathir should shut up and stay quiet.

Why should he? As far as I know he's speaking aloud for a lot of these Umno buggers who have no balls to say what Dr M is saying.

Go Dr M. go, go, go. We are with you.

This is like coming home to fight with your own brothers and sisters and father and mother after having lost a fight with outsiders.

Someone is gonna burn the house and they wouldn't know nothing until there's nothing left.

The REPLACEMENT
Sorry for off topic.
I ve noticed most of the Malaysia-Today's bloggers never stop bashing on NEP, Malay, UMNO & Tun M especially.

I smell a lot of rats there everytime there is an article on Tun M & Ku Li, these bashing comments came rushing in on the average of 40 to 50 in nos.

They never stop comparing how great is LKY's Dinasty administration & not surprisingly even during the GE 12 campaign our brother DSAI & his DAP brothers were very proudly boasting it to the people. In fact i cant recall any critics at all from
DSAI & DAP on WPI issues & all those dubious dealings between PL/KJ & TEMASIK groups.

Im being practical here. If it wasnt because of Tun M consistently voicing out againts Pak Lah & his HP6 cabinets administrations, i guessed the rest wont have the guts to follow thru.

To those who thinks that Singapore administration is so great, just open up a bit & surf around some of singapore's political sites to see whats happening down there.

Try read some of the articles (e.g Lee Kuan Yew administration a big Divide,If You Think Singapore is Great at http://singaporedissident.blogspot.com)

Its not surprise though, when reps of both side PL & Anwar are very fond of meeting & updating
each other & probably their master down there. Seems more like the master is changing the infamous & useless puppet.

Just when we thought we finally see the light, to me its more like LARI DARI MULUT BUAYA MASUK MULUT SINGA, neither way we are doomed.
